Allergy Foundation (BAF)The
British Allergy Foundation was formed as a registered charity in 1991 by a group
of leading medical specialists determined to improve awareness, management and
treatment of allergies. In May 2002 the operational name of the Foundation was
changed to Allergy UK The Charity is managed by the Board of Trustees who deal
with all the business aspects of the organization. All decisions on medical and
scientific matters in which the Foundation is involved are made by the Health
Advisory Panel. Members of this panel include leading allergists, dermatologists,
immunologists, pediatricians, GPs, nurses and dieticians. The

The
BAF Seal of ApprovalIn a recent independent survey by a German manufacturing
company it was found that the Seal of Approval is the most recognized mark for
allergy sufferers in Europe. The BAF Seal of Approval is given to products that
specifically restrict or remove allergens from the environment of allergy sufferers
and can be scientifically tested with measurable results. The type of products
that currently hold the Seal of Approval Award include vacuum cleaners, steam
cleaners, bedding, flooring/carpets, air cleaners, filtration and ventilation
systems and professionally applied treatment systems. BAF conducted independent
testing on the Ionic Breeze and concluded that "the Ionic Breeze reduces the allergen
load in the air sufficiently to be of benefit to allergy sufferers." The BAF Seal
of Approval is an endorsement of the products which have been awarded the seal. |
